Many aftershaves can be used as a moisturizer or toner, because they hydrate and moisturize the skin, but they are especially excellent after shaving, as they calm the skin and tighten the pores. For the same reason, they are not always the best choice for basic everyday skin care. The quick feeling of moisture is not enough to keep the skin moisturized and sometimes aftershaves can dry the skin out when used often.
